Who are GeoVenture's Staff?

Our instructors are an assemblage of teachers and recreation professionals. All staff have current PA and FBI background checks.

What is GeoVentures service area?

With trained staff throughout the eastern region of Pennsylvania, GeoVentures services Eastern and part of Central PA and parts of NJ, DE and MD. Please call for details.

What happens in the case of inclement weather?

The safety of the participants is always of utmost concern. With our outdoor mission we try to help youth and teens appreciate the outdoors in all conditions. In cases of light rain, GeoVentures staff will contact you to discuss alternative program options or rescheduling your events.

Adventure Programs and Geocaching

GeoVentures offers many programs designed to meet Boy Scout and Girl Scout badge and try-its requirements. All of our programs include hands-on, experiential learning, with an emphasis on team building. We understand how important cost and flexibility are and will working with you to design a program that meets your group’s needs.

Popular Scouting Programs

  • Geocaching Adventure: Scouts learn about the Global Positioning System and using a GPS unit. They are instroduced to the world of Geocaching (one of the fastest growing outdoor activities) and discover the health benefits of “caching.” Participants discover treasures and learn how to create thier own geocaching course while practicing Leave no Trace principles.
  • Backcountry Adventures: Scouts learn the essentials for hiking and backpacking in the backcountry. The program emphasizes outdoor leadership and the importance of trip planning and Leave no Trace. Participants put their knowledge to the test on the trail and through experiential learning of common safety and first aid scenarios.
  • Outdoor Adventure Games: Geocaching, Letterboxing, and Navigation games are used to excite scouts about exploring the outdoors. Learn how to "Gear Up" for outdoor adventures and the basics of navigational tools (GPS, compass, maps). Participants use a combination of clues, technology, and creative skills to learn about environmental sciences through their outdoor adventures.

Make your own GeoVentures program

GeoVentures programs are offered in a variety of format: from 3 hours outdoors skills workshops to full day badge events. The maximum number of participants varies by the nature of the program but we can often accommodate up to 150 scouts. Some of the badge programs we have met in our programs include:
